About the Division of Operations

Our Mission and Vision

Our Mission is to enhance our campus communities by providing quality operational services that support GW's academic mission.

Our Vision is to be recognized as a high performance and innovative leader in higher education operations.

The Division of Operations is responsible for providing a variety of operational services to the GW community. 
Our Division is comprised of seven core service units, as well as internal support units.

Core Service Units within the Division of Operations:

Campus Support Services is responsible for creating, managing, and cultivating many relationships with vendors that provide essential services to GW’s student population.  Some of these relationships include university dining, vending, laundry, and mail services.

Facilities and Campus Development  operates and maintains university facilities and provides quality support services for the physical environment of the university in addition to overseeing campus planning activities, construction projects, campus development projects, and oversight of  building related regulatory matters.

GWorld oversees the issuing and  maintenance of the GWorld card program on campus.  With GWorld, faculty, staff, and students are able to access university  facilities and use colonial cash at many on-campus and off-campus venues.

Investment Real Estate  is responsible for management of investment real estate assets in commercial properties of GW use. 

The Office of Sustainability works with the GW community to build a greener campus, provides research and intellectual discourse on policies and pathways to sustainable systems, and equips students with the skills and knowledge to contribute to a sustainable future.

Transportation and Parking Services oversees campus parking and transportation initiatives, including management of parking garages, the 4Ride security escort program and inter-campus shuttle services.
